Morton’s toe

Morton’s toe is a common hereditary bone structure where the second toe of the foot seems longer than the great toe. This is because the first metatarsal bone of the foot is shorter than the second.

Podiapro makes custom insoles to treat pain caused by Morton’s toe. These insoles support the shorter first metatarsal and reduce some of the excessive pressure on the second metatarsal.

Morton’s toe is a condition where the first metatarsal head of the foot (the first and the largest bone in the ball of the foot region) takes on lesser pressure as the first metatarsal bone is shorter than the second. This puts more pressure on the second metatarsal and can cause pain in the second toe. Since the first two metatarsals do not handle pressure loads the way they should, Morton’s toe can cause aches and pain even in the arch area.

Custom insoles that support the first metatarsal and reduce some of the pressure from the second can relieve the pain caused by Morton’s toe.
